Cart Lookout compared with CheckView and Shopwarden
All three test a WooCommerce checkout from outside your site with a real browser, which catches problems that plugins running inside WordPress can’t see. Here’s how they differ, so you can pick the one that fits.
| Cart Lookout | CheckView | Shopwarden | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price with WooCommerce checkout tests | $15/month for one store; $29 for 5, $79 for 20 | $70/month (Plus). The $35 Essentials plan is forms only | Free plan (basic health checks, uptime, an hourly home page browser check); Pro $29/month per site |
| How often checkout is tested | Checkout pages every 30 minutes; a full test order every 2 hours and after every update | Daily, weekly or monthly schedules | Pro: browser checks as often as every 5 minutes |
| How many stores | Set by plan (1, 5 or 20) | Unlimited websites; 1,000 tests a month on Plus | Priced per site |
| Also does | Checkout only | Form testing | Uptime checks, plugin monitoring, order statistics |
| Free trial | 14 days | Not stated on its pricing page | Free plan |
What Cart Lookout focuses on
- Which change broke it. We record every plugin, theme and WordPress update, and plugins switched on or off. When checkout fails, the alert names the change made just before (as a clue, labelled “not confirmed”).
- A test straight after every update, not only on a schedule.
- Proof it works again. A second email when checkout passes, listing what changed while it was broken.
- No false alarms from one blip. We alert only after two failed tests in a row.
- Clean test orders. Paid with a hidden test method, no emails to anyone, kept out of analytics, then deleted with stock restored. How test orders work.
When another service may suit you better
- CheckView if you also want your contact and other forms tested.
- Shopwarden if you want a free plan, or uptime checks and order statistics in the same place.
